♥ Finally! After spending the last year chatting
about it, Love Art is starting ceramic classes! Yippee! I'm going
back to my "roots"! Started ceramics roughly 19 years ago (damn im
getting old) & never had the space to run a ceramic studio, now I
do! ♥
♥ October 1993 my ceramic teacher, Dawn Lomax, entered me into the Corobrick East Cape Regionals! Of course she found out before the exhibition opening that I had won 2 awards & had to keep it secret from all until the opening! The following articles where written about the event. ♥
♥ This article appeared in the EP Herald 11th October 1993 ..."A quite different approach is adopted by double award winner Li Gardner (before I became Nepgen) whose decorative harlequin poses precariously upon a seemingly deflating world."
Unfortunately the sculpture (which was placed on a pedestal) was knocked over the following day by a winners mom walking backwards trying to photograph their work! I still have the sculpture which I painstakingly glued back together again but of course it will never be what it was! ♥

♥ This is a section of the article written in The National Ceramic Quartely ..."Entries of a high standard were shown by 11 new potters, and the Clay School Award for First Time Exhibitors was shared by Francis Lotz & Li Gardner (now Nepgen) - Li also won the Goodwins Gallery Award - She is a lady to watch in the future!
Well hopefully I can live up to that statement & have all watching me at present! ♥
The cost is R380;00 per month for 4 lessons, 1 lesson per week for 3hrs. The price of clay is from R60;00 - R200;00 (for 10kg's) depending on the type of clay you decide to use.
